This post is late but I wanted to keep things in correct chronological order. I'll post for February tomorrow night.
The 2nd story roof is done. Mike and I finally finished just before he leaves for home and Sarah and I go to visit family for Christmas. What a relief to know if it rains things will stay dry. What? Rain? That's right. This isn't Lima. Out here in Chaclacayo we often get a light drizzle and sometimes enough rain to make problems if things aren't built right. But now we won't have to worry.

Update 11-15-07
This post is late but I wanted to keep things chronological...
Things have been buzzing at the Aldea since the departure of the Orlando roof team.
There are advances in multiple areas. The most notable is the beginning of tile work in the kitchen and bathrooms. It's a milestone to start to see things being put back in rather than torn out. Speaking of torn out, the well is gone.
The roof is going well. Slow but well. Mike and I have had several side projects pop up. Such as gutting and redesigning the upstairs bathroom into two separate bathrooms. We have to plan our work priorities according to the workers progress so they can do their installations and not fall behind. But thing are moving along.

Update 11-01-07
The major thing that happened this week was the filling the two big pits out in the front of the property. Got some pictures and a small video. One pit is the pump station to raise the sewer water back up to street level. The other pit is the cistern. The cistern is calculated to be large enough to feed the current house and also any expansions in the future.
Mike is away this week. He joined one of the Bible College missions teams (Cajamarca) and is right now ministering there. He should be back next week to continue with me on the roof.
Some other exciting news. The tile guys have been waiting to get to work in the kitchen and bathrooms. Today they started in the kitchen! Sorry no picture of that yet. But things are moving along.

Update 10-15-07
Things are slowly moving along. There are so many different areas being worked on that it is hard to keep it all clear in my mind. The pictures start to run together. But changes are taking place. Some are subtle and some are more noticeable. The roof was paused while Mike and I worked on the upstairs bathroom(s). The one bathroom will now be divided into two using the closet space that was next to it. Now there will be separate girls and boys bathrooms which will be a big plus. Mike and I have to keep pausing the roof work to build ceilings or walls below so that the workers can finish with their installations. But all in all it will get there.
